Artist Statement

Artist Statement The sparkle of sunlight reflected off calm ocean water; The curving lines of a sleek German roadster; The incredible colors of the setting sun; The extended dark shadow cast along a weathered boardwalk; The texture of sandy rocks chiseled and carved at by years of tidal activity…. My photography is about the things that reach out and capture me. Expressing this sensation via photographic images to convey what I feel at the moment of being “captured” is my adventure. I see shapes, colors, contrast and light that are truly remarkable. Some best expressed in color, others more vibrant in black and white. I want to share this, to invoke feeling… This is what my photography is. I set out on photographic ventures with an open mind. At any moment something may stop me in my tracks, pulling my eye to it. I have always been mesmerized by the beaches, and coastal towns of the Atlantic. From my early photographic days to present, this truly remains my greatest source of inspiration. I can walk the same stretch of sand for days and always something new presents itself to me. To see someone take pause upon viewing my images, to reflect as if my image has actually stirred something within, is very special. If my images awaken emotion, I have succeeded in expressing the moment. This is always my goal. I hope you enjoy viewing the images that have captured me
